Proactive Solution

While the clever spelling may leave a bit to be desired, the name Proactive is a very appropriate moniker for this highly effective acne treatment. Unlike most over-the-counter acne treatments, which are designed to deal with only your current outbreak, this wonderful treatment program is designed to help prevent further outbreaks.

Who should use Proactive? Without sounding to patronizing (hopefully) Proactive is an excellent option for anyone who is suffering from semi-regular to regular acne outbreaks. While there is no reason that it wouldn’t be just as effective for teenagers, the core demographic for Proactive tends to be adults dealing with acne.

Remember how, when you were a teenager, nothing seemed as mortifying as having an acne outbreak with the big dance coming up? Or perhaps your face erupted just before opening night of your high school musical and you thought you could never feel that ashamed of your skin. Well, that’s nothing compared with the anxiety most of us feel when the outbreak occurs right before a large presentation at work, a performance review or some other serious even in our adult lives. Proactive was created and designed to help avoid just such a situation.

Let’s face it (no pun intended), most over-the-counter acne solutions are lacking some area. They either fail to deal with your breakout completely or dry your skin out to the point that smiling hurts. The irony of the solutions which dry out your skin is that they tend to lay the groundwork for future breakouts. Proactive is both highly effective at dealing with your current breakout and leaving your skin healthy and moisturized, minimizing future outbreaks.

In the past, to get a highly effective acne solution, you needed to get a prescription from your doctor. Getting the prescription was the easy part; getting it filled was frequently a problem because health insurance companies tend to consider acne treatments to be “cosmetic.” Proactiv avoids this problem because there is no prescription required.

I don’t want to make Proactiv sound like the “Elixir of Gods” for the acne-afflicted, so let me point out a couple of caveats. First and foremost, just like anything else on our fair planet, it works wonders for some people and does approximately squat for others. If we were all exactly alike, this would be a pretty boring place (although the makers of Proactiv would rejoice in the similarities).

The other downside, for some people, is the price. Actual retail cost varies, but you can probably expect to pay thirty-to-fifty dollars for a month of solution. Depending on the severity of your affliction, this may or may not be a worthwhile investment for you: that’s something only you can determine. For people with a severe and often traumatizing case of chronic acne, the cost is most likely offset by the peace of mind afforded by a clear complexion.

So, if you go in knowing that Proactiv may prove to be ineffective and expensive, you should be just fine. If your skin is giving you headaches, it’s probably worth a one-month investment to find out how effective Proactiv will be for you.
